The second most populous country in the world, India has enjoyed steady economic growth and has achieved self-sufficiency in grain production in recent years. Despite this, high levels of poverty, food insecurity and malnutrition persist. Around 21.25 percent of the population lives on less than US$1.90 a day, and levels of inequality and social exclusion are very high.

JSSS works to eradicate hunger, malnutrition, food wastage. Our aim to feed the hungry homeless destitute, abandoned senior citizens, migrant workers. Feeding the hungry homeless elderly, women, children, leprosy patients, disabled in the night shelter homes and on the streets. More than 2000 thousand homeless population Jyoti samajik sewa sanstha covers in the all-night shelter homes in different states every day. We provide nutritious and healthy food with the high grain of minerals, vitamins, and proteins. This project is helping the homeless population, feeding the homeless people to eradicate hunger in India.

Blankets and Old Clothes Distribution

The volunteers of Jyoti Samajik Sewa sanstha has distributed high quality thick woollen blankets and daries at night-time, our volunteers are wandering across different areas of Delhi and NCR. Firstly, we ask and aware that you should move to night shelters home which is located to nearby place after refuse to move along with us. We give blankets and daries whose People sleep on the street without wearing any cloth on their bodies and without having any blanket to preserve their bodies as well. Few of the rickshaw pullers whose sleep on their rickshaws due to the fear that their rickshaws would get stolen. Blanket and Old Clothes Distribution Campaign to Beat the Cold, we have distributed thousands of blankets and old clothes better in terms of quality and comfort.

As Delhi NCR is heading towards merciless winter every year, The volunteers of Jyoti Samajik Sewa sanstha has distributed high quality thick woollen blankets, warm clothes in slum or underdeveloped different areas of Delhi and neighbour region to make the poverty-stricken people survive even in the harsher winters.

Jyoti Samajik Sewa sanstha, we have taken quick steps in meeting the daily winter needs of natives living in marginalized communities. Every year, migrant workers, daily wage labourers, and rickshaw pullers face the challenges offered by the winter season that put their life at stake. Impoverished people who can’t manage the budget to buy a roof over their head struggle to survive on the temporary house example kacha makaan. they feel cruel cold and don’t have sufficient arrangement to live on cold.

Alcohol & Substance Abuse

Recognizing that alcohol and substance abuse has caused widespread affliction in the country, JYOTI SAMAJIK SEWA SANSTHA (JSSS) aims to create a movement for a multi-sectoral approach to prevent substance dependency. The harmful effects of alcohol and substance abuse are of a great magnitude and concern. The personal, social and economic costs of alcoholics and drug dependents are borne by individual families and the community at large.

Alcohol and drug dependency leads to an increase in the health cost of the drug dependents causing major loss of productivity, marital conflicts (violence against women), a major depletion of family resources, poor nutrition to children, deprivation of education etc. Thousands of deaths and HIV/AIDS cases every year are also attributed effects of drugs and alcohol abuse. Drug Abuse is a threat to mankind is it on streets or in communities due to drug related road accidents or crimes.

The consequences of drug and alcohol abuse in India are of grave concern to us and we believe that adequate attention is not being paid to this major problem. JYOTI SAMAJIK SEWA SANSTHA (JSSS) aims at linking the disadvantaged population to key services through an effective network of referral services. Through resource mapping, a comprehensive list of existing resources and services has been prepared which is used for ensuring following key services to the people in need from its target area:
